Richard is an author, artist, and generally creative person, but he is first and foremost, a husband, father, and follower of Christ.
He loves writing sci-fi, with action, suspense, humor, and mystery, but also tries his hand at other genres on occasion. Sometimes dark and suspenseful, other times funny and flat-out ridiculous. He enjoys having fun with his writing, and exploring new ideas. He doesn't write to make a living, instead he writes when he feels he has an idea worth sharing.
"What kind of story is this? It must be a comedy, because it's laughable!"
-Fictitious quote of a rude individual
Richard has lived in Canada his entire life, growing up in a small rural town and enjoying the simple life. In his adult life he moved to a small city where he lives with his wife and four children, enjoying the slightly busier simple life.
"Living in the frigid wastes of southern Canada, Richard Graywell has braved the biting cold of nature's fury for one reason, and one reason only... to protect the ones he loves."
-Overly dramatic exaggeration
Though having spent his adult working life in physical labor factory jobs, he takes advantage of the tedious and monotonous times to think of new and creative ideas.
"The cogs continue turning. The flames burn hotter. The burdens get heavier. The only relief is that blessed bell. That final blessed bell."
-Not an actual quote, but certainly sounds intriguing
Richard was saved from addiction as a young adult by the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and has followed him ever since. He always writes according to his beliefs, meaning there is a moral backbone that readers can trust. He keeps his stories free from profanity, sexuality, and gore. His stories will have immoral characters, violence, or even blood, but evil is never encouraged, but rather something to fight against. This makes his stories enjoyable for teens and adults alike.Â
"If ever you don't know the right path to choose, then don't choose the path that helps you. Instead choose the path that helps others. In doing so, you'll choose the path that helps you."
-Richard Graywell
